چکیده

We present an analysis of the N -boson spectrum computed using a soft two-body potential, the strength of which has been varied in order to cover an extended range of positive and negative values of the two-body scattering length a close to the unitary limit. The spectrum shows a tree structure of two states, one shallow and one deep, attached to the ground state of the system with one less particle. It is governed by a unique universal function (ξ ), already known in the case of three bosons. In the three-particle system the angle ξ , determined by the ratio of the twoand three-body binding energies E3/E2 = tan2 ξ , characterizes the discrete scale invariance of the system. Extending the definition of the angle to the N -body system as EN/E2 = tan2 ξ , we study the N -boson spectrum in terms of this variable. The analysis of the results, obtained for up to N = 16 bosons, allows us to extract a general formula for the energy levels of the system close to the unitary limit. Interestingly, a linear dependence of the universal function as a function of N is observed at fixed values of a. We show that the finite-range nature of the calculations results in the range corrections that generate a shift of the linear relation between the scattering length a and a particular form of the universal function. We also comment on the limits of applicability of the universal relations.

Nonlinearly Realized Local Scale Invariance: Gravity and Matter

That the scalar field theories with no dimensional couplings possess local scale invariance (LSI) via the curvature gauging is utilized to show that the Goldstone boson, released by the spontaneous LSI breakdown, is swallowed by the spacetime curvature in order to generate Newton’s constant in the same spirit as the induction of vector boson masses via spontaneous gauge symmetry breaking. For E...

Discrete Scale Invariance in the Cascade Heart Rate Variability of Healthy Humans

Evidence of discrete scale invariance (DSI) in daytime healthy heart rate variability (HRV) is presented based on the log-periodic power law scaling of the heart beat interval increment. Our analysis suggests multiple DSI groups and a dynamic cascading process. A cascade model is presented to simulate such a property.

A Model Study of Discrete Scale Invariance and Long-Range Interactions

We investigate the modification of discrete scale invariance in the bound state spectrum by longrange interactions. This problem is relevant for effective field theory descriptions of nuclear cluster states and manifestations of the Efimov effect in nuclei. As a model system, we choose a one dimensional inverse square potential supplemented with a long-range Coulomb interaction. We study the re...

Harmonic oscillator with nonzero minimal uncertainties in both position and momentum in a SUSYQM framework

In the context of a two-parameter (α, β) deformation of the canonical commutation relation leading to nonzero minimal uncertainties in both position and momentum, the harmonic oscillator spectrum and eigenvectors are determined by using an extension of the techniques of conventional supersymmetric quantum mechanics combined with shape invariance under parameter scaling. The resulting supersymme...
